Thanks for sharing your thoughts on escapism. However, I think it's important to note that not all forms of escapism are equivalent. While it's true that some people may use escapism to avoid dealing with unpleasant aspects of life, others may engage in activities like singing, music, or socializing as a way to recharge and find joy. These activities are essential to a well-rounded life and shouldn't be dismissed as mere escapism.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on how to differentiate between unhealthy avoidance and healthy coping mechanisms. How can we strike a balance between facing life's challenges and enjoying its pleasures?"
Hey Shashank, I completely agree with you..escapism is an essential need of all human beings. We just need to be more cognizant of it so that we choose escapism techniques which enrich our lives instead of draining them.
I am a big victim of unhealthy escapism..that's why I spent so much time deep-diving it. I wanted to fulfil my need to escape and then I fell into a lot of traps like social media, etc.
Now, I will start actively designing my escaping activities. I will share more posts as insights or action points around different types of escapism. I am now quite excited about it as it covers a significant part of my daily life.
